Albert Pujols blew the sacrifice in the bottom of the ninth, hitting into a double play with the Cards down 6-5 and the bases loaded. Despite another piss poor outing by Mulder, who gave up 6 runs and 11 hits over five innings, the Cardinals managed to fight their way back in contention off a three run homer by Reggie Sanders in the bottom of the 6th.
Our relief managed to go three innings without allowing a run. Something worth noting.
David Eckstein is well worth the money, if only for the sheer entertainment value he adds. As someone noted earlier, he has an insane drive to get on base. It's inspiring.
Molina got his first hit of the season. Let's hope that's a mental boost for him.
Tavarez looked like his old self, as opposed to Eddie Haskell impersonating Wally Cleaver. It was refreshing.
Rolen is now batting a miserable .143 with Pujols not far behind at .241, but hey, he still hasn't struck out...
Burrell went RBI-less again today...oops.
